Where do I take my machine to have it serviced ?

We have  northwest and southeast locations in  Las Vegas

where you can drop your machine off for us to service.

Click the SERVICES link for locations and hours of operation.

We also offer pickup and delivery within most of the

Las Vegas Metropolitan area. Contact us  for more details.

How soon can you look at my sewing machine?
From the time you contact us and we talk to you, usually

within 24-48 hours we will be looking at your machine.

If there are no parts that need to be ordered, we should

be able to get it back to you in 3-7 business days or sooner

if possible. We will call text or e-mail you when it's ready

for pickup or schedule  delivery time.

For Expedited Service, in 24 hours or less.

See rates and Services for pricing

locations and  availability.

How often should I have my machine serviced?
To maintain optimum performance on your domestic
sewing

machine we recommend a basic cleaning, lubricating and

overall check every 12 to 18 months if us use your machine

1- 8 hours a month. This will keep it in great shape for many

years. If you use your machine almost daily for personal use;

every 10 to 12 months is best. For semi commercial or

industrial use, service should be done every 3 to 6 months.

with some self maintenance: oiling as well as cleaning in the

bobbin case and hook areas. Even if you seldom use your

machine or it has been stored away for some time, it could dry

out from lack of use and should be serviced every 24 to 36

months to keep nylon, rubber, leather and plastic parts and

gears from drying out, especially in dry climates.

Why should I use your service instead of a

retail store?
The focus of our business is ONLY sewing machine service and

repair. Since we are not paying rent on retail storefront we can

offer better service right to your door for less. Most stores that

offer sewing machine service are in business to sell you a new

vacuum or sewing machine. That’s why they are there. They are

really not all that interested in fixing your present sewing machine.

They will do it, but that’s not  their main objective.

What additional items need to be with my sewing

machine when it is serviced ?
Just a few items, the power cord, foot control, zigzag foot

unless  you have a straight stitch only machine, a bobbin

and bobbin case (top loaders usually built in), the embroidery

arm and a small hoop if embroidery  only machine or issues.

If a particular fabric is an issue, provide a sample for us to test.

Which brands do you service?
We service all makes and models. There may be a rare

exception but here is a partial list of the brands we repair

and service. Bernina, Babylock, Brother, Kenmore, Pfaff,

Elna, Necchi, Sears, JC Penney, Morris, Simplicity, Singer,

Viking, Husqvarna, Juki, New Home, Bernette, Universal,

White, Janome, Adler, Toyota, Europro, Montgomery Ward,

Free Westinghouse, Riccar, Spartan, Hobbylock, National,

Huskylock Consew and many more including

many commercial machines.

Where will my sewing machine be repaired?
The nature of servicing a sewing machine involves degreasing

and removing lint, thread with a compressor, pins, broken

needles and other debris from inside the machine. In addition,

parts or other equipment may be required to complete the

work that is needed. Also some repairs take additional time

to complete, Service and repairs are performed at our shop

as to not dirty your sewing area or take up more of your time.

Most commercial machines and some household machines

may be able to be serviced on site.

How will I know how much my sewing machine

repair will cost?
Service costs generally depend on the nature of the repair

and the complexity of your sewing machine. When you call

on the phone or email us a technician will give you a

preliminary estimate based on the information you provide.

If your not happy with that figure there is no charge. If you

make an appointment or service, there will be a $49 minimum

bench charge. That will be applied toward the repair cost .**

Minimum bench charge for sergers and embroidery machines

is $69. The minimum service charge on any machine is $49.

The average repair is about  $79 -$109 plus parts if needed.

Embroidery  machines and sergers are $129-$169+ parts.

When we pick up your machine the technician may perform

a few basic tests to adjust or confirm the estimate. If while

at our shop we see that there are other issues that may need

to be addressed on the machine we will contact you before

we perform the repair to make sure you know what it needs

and you are OK with the repair cost. We will simply complete

the repair If the additional charges are not more than 10%

over the approved estimate and are needed for your machine

work properly; The bench/estimate is not added to the repair.**

What if you can’t fix my sewing machine or it costs

more than I want to spend?
The most common reasons that a machine may not be

repairable are the parts are not available or the total repair

cost exceeds the value of the machine in which case Your

machine would be returned to you by appointment. On the

other hand if we tell you that your family heirloom isn't

practically repairable due to the cost of fixing it, It’s up to you

if you still want it fixed, we will fix it. If you decide not to have

it repaired for any reason the total is $39 for most machines,

the initial cost of an  estimate without repair. See rates below

for machines that require electronic  diagnostic to be repaired.

Your machine would be returned to  by appointment. If you decide

it is time to replace it, we can help you find a reputable dealer  so

you can make a smart choice on a machine that suits your needs

and budget. We usually have reconditioned machines also available.

What is the best way to store my sewing machine?
If storing for several months, remove the needle, the presser

foot and shank, and leave the presser bar lifter in the down

position. Leave the pattern selector on “straight Stitch”. If

removable detach the electrical cord and foot (speed) control,

store on seal-able plastic bag, store in carry case with

machine if there is room. If you can, have the machine serviced
before storage. ALWAYS STORE YOU SEWING MACHINE IN A

COOL DRY PLACE. Electronics, nylon, rubber, leather, plastic

parts, belts and gears can be severely damaged in hot storage.

What if my sewing machine is still under the

manufactures warranty?
Note: If your sewing machine is still covered by the

manufacturers 90 day or one year warranty you need to

use their repair facilities for warranty covered repairs for

defective or broken parts. The 20 year warranty you see

printed on the boxes of many machines cover only a

manufacturing defect in the casting of the frame of the

machine, I've only seen one of these in 35 years of sewing

machine service! Threading issues, incorrectly installed

parts or accessories are  not covered. .Also, "wear parts"

bobbin cases, belts, presser feet, needle plates and the

like are not covered by any  warranty.

NOTE: We are not authorized to perform manufacturers

warranty repairs, however cleaning, lubrication and

maintenance adjustments and most of the repairs are not

usually covered by any factory warranties and are performed

daily at LV Sewing Machine Repair. Contact us if you have

questions about your sewing machine repair.

            Policies

not be able to repair your machine based on our

conversation prior to your appointment; or drop off, we will

advise you, and charge you ZERO. We both will save time
